William (Bill) Kennon has served as Legal Counsel for The Foundation since 1999. William Kennon is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estates Counsel and practices in the field of taxation with emphasis on corporate tax matters, personal tax and estate planning and tax exempt organizations. Mr. Kennon has wide experience with committees of the American and North Carolina Bar Associations in the drafting of tax legislation and has worked closely with the North Carolina General Statutes Commission. He has written and lectured extensively on matters relating to federal estate, gift and income taxation, with emphasis in estate planning topics. He is a member of the Duke University Estate Planning Council. He is a graduate of Duke University and the University of North Carolina School of Law. He graduated with honors in taxation at the latter institution.
