The Head Coaches Initiative

In 2007, the AFCA Board of Trustees began the Head Coaches Initiative. They believed that as head football coaches, they had benefited from the knowledge, expertise and mentoring of those who had gone before them in our profession. They also recognized that without the educational opportunities provided by the Association, their chances for success would have been diminished. Hence, the Board began an ongoing fundraising initiative known as the Head Coaches Initiative. Head coaches on all levels of football are encouraged to make a yearly contribution to the American Football Coaches Foundation. Through the benevolence of those outside the coaching profession, all head coaches' donations are matched. 

Shortly before his passing, The Foundation received a donation from one of the great head coaches of all time, former University of Michigan head coach, Bo Schembechler.  It was Coach Schembechler's way to help ensure the future of our great game. 

This initiative encourages head coaches on all levels of collegiate and professional football to contribute to The Foundation in order to give back to the future of the game.
